” Reductive painting, at least in my work, begins with layers of messy texture and contrast, in which I see ‘found’ objects, scenes or people, and reduce the area around them to make them more prominent. I continue to use elements of reductive painting, and because the images seen were ‘found’ and not painted directly, I get to join the viewer in interpreting the work. ”
